Course Overview
This course provides school leaders with the information and knowledge required to suitably manage workplace stress.
Intended Outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide the tools/skills/information for school leaders to manage stress with the employee team. Those completing the course will develop an understanding of their role and responsibilities for managing work-related stress. The course will provide the following:
- A definition of stress
- Information required to spot the signs of stress
- How to deal with staff who are showing signs of stress
- An understanding of the HSE Management Standards for work-related stress
- How to undertake a stress risk assessment
- Ability to identify appropriate interventions for managing stress
- An understanding of the management competencies in preventing and dealing with stress
Who is it for
Designed for School Leaders – Head Teachers/Principals. School Leaders should complete the training and cascade down to line managers if required. This course can be made available to all managers if required.
Duration
45 minutes to 1 hour.

Assessment
To successfully complete the course, learners will be required to pass a short assessment.
