Who is it for?
The course is aimed at members of SLT, SBMs, HR team members and line managers that may be involved in managing staff performance and capability.
Intended Outcomes
The course is intended to provide an overview of the capability process, give clear guidance on identifying when and how to kick start the formal process and support leaders to effectively manage each stage in this challenging process. In addition, the session will help managers to understand the potential outcomes of this process and when an employee can submit an appeal. At the end of the course, it is intended that participants will:
- Understand what is meant by capability;
- Identify when to start the capability process and how to kick start the formal process;
- Be confident in dealing with to the common responses to the start of a formal capability process;
- Be able to effectively manage a formal capability meeting;
- Understand potential outcomes of a formal capability meeting or hearing;
- Understand the stages of a full, formal capability process; and
- Be able to identify when an employee can appeal.
Cost

The cost of this session starts at £995 plus VAT for up to 20 participants for clients of the Employment Law & HR Service. Each additional participant will be charged at £55 plus VAT per head. Where the session is to be delivered on site, in person, reasonable travel expenses will be charged in addition to the session cost.

CPD
This course equates to 3 hours of CPD and following attendance on the course, participants will be sent electronic copies of their CPD certificate, copies of the slides and activities discussed during the session.
