What this course contains
The course will provide attendees with information on the risks associated with manual handling activities. It ensures attendees recognise the key legal requirements, are able to identify the hazards and consequences of poor handling techniques and apply the basic principles of good manual handling techniques.
Intended outcomes
Course participants will:
- Understand the legislation underpinning Manual Handling operations
- Know what constitutes 'manual handling'
- Understand how the human body works in relation to manual handling
- Recognise the different types of injuries possible
- Know how to assess manual handling tasks
- Be able to apply regulations and best practice
Who is this course for
This course is designed for people that carry out or manage manual handling activities and need to understand key aspects of good manual handling techniques to prevent accidents or musculoskeletal injuries.
The cost
The course costs £719.25 + VAT and can be delivered on site to small or larger groups for up to 16 delegates.
For schools that do not subscribe to our Health & Safety Support Service, fees are £1,080.71 + VAT.
Assessment
To successfully complete the course, attendees will be required to pass a short assessment.
CPD:
Upon successful completion of the course participants will be issued a CPD accredited certificate. The course equates to 3 hours of CPD.
