In England, 5% of children have ADHD and the number of ADHD diagnoses has risen significantly over the past two decades, most markedly among boys aged 10-16 years. Mainstream classroom can all too often be overwhelming places for children and young people with ADHD and teachers can struggle to reconcile increasingly robust behaviour policies with meeting the needs of these children.
