About this scheduled SEND course

Removing barriers: supporting children with ADHD in the mainstream classroom

In England, 5% of children have ADHD and the number of ADHD diagnoses has risen significantly over the past two decades, most markedly among boys aged 10-16 years. Mainstream classroom can all too often be overwhelming places for children and young people with ADHD and teachers can struggle to reconcile increasingly robust behaviour policies with meeting the needs of these children. Our expert, Rik Chilvers (former SENDCO and Head of our SEND Service) is here to cover the need-to-knows on this topic.

This webinar provides SENDCOs, teachers and senior leaders with the knowledge to understand the following:

  • Common barriers to learning experienced by children with ADHD
  • Easy to implement strategies to help remove these barriers
  • How to create a whole-school approach to supporting children with ADHD
