Hidden harm: Recognising and responding to domestic abuse

Reflecting on the changes from the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 and findings from the Crime Survey for England and Wales 2023-24, this Live at 3.45 focusses on domestic abuse. This session utilises case study learning to support practitioners to consider their approach to support their children and families. This session is led by ex-police Victim and Witness Care Officer Joanne Bocko, who has a specialism in domestic abuse.

This webinar provides Senior Leaders, Designated Safeguarding Leads, Deputies and key governors with the knowledge to understand the following:

  • Latest statistics on domestic abuse
  • Changes to the law regarding domestic abuse
  • Children as victims- including signs and symptoms to look out for
  • Operation Encompass
  • Safety planning
  • Learning from case reviews- best practice
  • Teenage relationship abuse and the curriculum
