Data Protection

What is a Lawful Basis?

About this event

There's no set list of personal data you can and cannot share, instead we have to look at reasons for processing and make sure we can justify the sharing.

Most lawful bases require that processing is ‘necessary’ for a specific purpose. But if you can reasonably achieve the same purpose without the processing, you won’t have a lawful basis.

Also, if your purposes change, you need to consider whether you need a new lawful basis.

Join us as we take you through the options and outline the 6 reasons for processing

During the session we will be looking at:

      • Consent
      • Contract
      • Legal Obligation
      • Vital Interests
      • Public Task
      • Legitimate interests
